Emma Geer | Project Designer

Background.

I recently graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Architecture, where I received the Peck Prize for the best architectural thesis solution. My journey into architecture began when I took drafting classes in high school, and I have been in love with the field ever since.

I am passionate about creating buildings that are not only aesthetically appealing but also inspiring to others. I have a strong interest in designing spaces that benefit the environment and respond to local needs. I am also passionate about inclusive design, as I believe architecture should be accessible and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of age, ability, or ethnicity.

What I love about what I do.

For me, architecture reaches beyond the bounds of traditional living and commercial spaces, using art and design to reimagine the built world. It creates unique environments and sparks conversation among people, whether they work in the field or simply experience the spaces around them.

I love architecture’s ability to bring people together through shared interests in the design process and through the ways spaces become inhabited and enjoyed over time.

At TAMA, I assist with everything from drafting plans and creating 3D models to collaborating on design solutions for residential projects. I am particularly interested in sustainability, and I’m always excited to learn more about how technology is evolving to protect the planet and shape the future of design. I take pride in contributing to projects that transform clients’ dreams into beautiful spaces where families can grow and thrive.

Outside of work.

When I’m not in the office, I can usually be found working on various art and architecture projects of my own. I practically live at the beach and can often be spotted collecting sea glass or sailing through Long Island Sound.

I grew up traveling with my family, which gave me a deep sense of wanderlust and a love for the planet and all its inhabitants. When it’s time to relax, I’m usually spending time with my two dogs, my leopard gecko, and my snake.
