Alexandru Breban | Project Designer
Background.
My journey in architecture started at around age 7, inspired by shows like Build It Bigger and Extreme Engineering. I dreamt about the idea of showing up to the build site with blueprints in one hand and a hard hat in the other, ready to bring all the ideas to life, just like the ones I saw on TV. Although no one told me that, instead of a hard hat, I'd mostly be wearing blue-light glasses and arguing with my computer.
I earned my Bachelor of Architecture from the New York Institute of Technology. I interned at the New York City Housing Authority, where I gained valuable hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of the field. I’m continually learning and evolving here at TAMA as an architectural designer and soon-to-be architect.
What I love about what I do.
I love the challenge of taking someone's vision and turning it into something real. There’s something really exciting about the process and exploring all ideas, whether design or construction-related. Equally, my interest in sustainable design has made me even more committed to learn, educate and push architecture to become more sensitive to our needs and the environment.
Outside of work.
I’m usually with my dog Lucky, snapping pictures with my polaroid camera, or checking out vintage cars — as well as dreaming about them too.
